Getting Started

This application runs on the web, iOS devices, and Android phones. The web URL for your convention will depend on the convention series. An example is the Dutch AcroYoga Festival, which we've abbreviated as DAYF. In this case the URL is dayf.progressionworkshops.org.

If you wish to use a new password for your account, you'll need to sign up. The link is further down on the log-in page. Here we ask for your name and your password. Rest assured the password is stored in encrypted fashion, so even we cannot recover it. The forgot-password flow uses the email address to verify it's you, so it's important to use an email address that works.

In order to use this service, we need to know who you are. Even if you've signed up with an email and password, you can still sign in using Google or Apple single sign-on.

Types of Users

Attendee

Any potential attendee to a convention is this type of user by default. In some cases you'll be able to register for the convention and/or pay.

Host

A host for an event (a workshop, activity, chore, or meal) is the individual who will be running it. We also refer to them as teachers in the case of workshops. In order to be a host, an organizer needs to set up permissions to allow for this.

Organizer

Members of the organizing committee for a convention will have the capability to configure and maintain the contents of a convention.

Admin

These are progressionworkshops.org staff that can help with convention organization. This includes any set up that isn't available in the organizer dashboard.

Tabs

Home

The initial landing page. Here you can add or remove a profile picture and change your displayed name if you'd like.

From here, if you're a teacher you'll have an option to add a workshop to the convention. Here will also be a listing of the workshops you've created, and if they've been assigned to a location and time those will also be displayed. Depending on the convention, you'll also have the ability to add filterable prerequisites for your workshops.

Schedule

The schedule page contains all of the events (workshops, activities, chores, and meals) that you've selected from the Available Events tab. You may filter by the level of commitment.

Available Events

All of the available events — workshops, activities, chores, and meals — are on this tab. If you're a teacher, you'll additionally have an option to create a new workshop.

Skills

Depending on the configuration of the convention, this is either tags or prerequisites. The checked ones represent your skills. This allows you to filter on these workshops in Available Events.

Map

If it's available for your convention, the map may contain one or more maps and/or floor plans. You can click highlighted elements to get more details about the locations. Map switching, magnifying and panning are all available on that tab.

Privacy

This tab links to our privacy policy, in addition to utilities to enforce your rights under the GDPR.

Being a Teacher

Organizers need to configure your account to be a teacher for the specific convention. Once that's done, you have the option of creating workshops. The only required field is the name. Others are nice for attendees to see. The workshop thumbnail will show up on the workshop cards.

If other teachers will join you for your workshop, they can be added by email. If they're not a teacher or a user of our system, they'll get an email inviting them to join.

Deleting Your Account

You can request deletion of your account at any time. To do so:

  1. Log in to the app and go to the Privacy tab.
  2. Tap Request Account Deletion.
  3. Confirm your request. You will receive a confirmation email.

Once confirmed, your account and all associated personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days, in accordance with our privacy policy and the GDPR. During this period you may contact us to cancel the deletion request.

If you are unable to log in, you can also request deletion by emailing us directly at the contact address listed in our privacy policy.
